AWANA
Awana is a children's club that meets weekly during the school year. Children ages 3 through 6th grade learn about God and the Bible by memorizing Bible verses, playing games, singing songs, and participating in a Bible story or lesson. Children earn awards and Awana "bucks" for each Bible verse they learn. Four times a year, they can use their collected Awana bucks to buy prizes. Once a month, there is a special event or theme, such as "Crazy Hat Night", "Turn Your Leader into a Snowman," or "Hearts Night".
Children ages 3-4 years old go to the CUBBIES room where they stay for the entire club meeting. They work on their memory verses, hear a Bible lesson, see a puppet show, play games, and end with a special treat -- singing with Mr. Pike and his banjo!
Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade participate in the SPARKS club. Children in 3rd through 6th grades participate in the TRUTH AND TRAINING club. Both of these groups meet together in the chapel for an "opening ceremony" before dismissing to separate rooms to work on their memory verses during "Handbook Time". Then both groups come together again for an exciting time of games where they have a chance to learn about taking turns, listening to instructions, and good sportsmanship. Finally, both groups return to the chapel again for a Bible lesson and the "closing ceremony" where they receive awards for the work they did during Handbook Time. Parents are encouraged to come to the closing ceremony at 7:30 to see their children receive their awards.
AWANA at Copperfield Bible Church will begin on Sunday, August 28, 2011. We will be meeting on Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:40 PM.
Please make sure that you print off a registration form (look below this text) and bring it filled out. You will need to fill out the entire form, including the medical release information. Having this filled out early will help to speed things up on opening night.
The registration fees are $10/child or $20/family (maximum, no matter how many children in the same family register). We ask that your child brings $.50 per week as dues that will help to offset the various costs of the ministry (books, awards, crafts, etc.).
You can also find a calendar in the table below for the AWANA year. This will show you various events that are scheduled throughout the year.
